The Privacy Pass is an incentive program that allows users to earn RLC tokens in return for receiving marketing or promotional emails. The privacy of users' email addresses is preserved thanks to blockchain and confidential computing tech. Encrypted, and then processed within a hardware enclave during use, the email address is never revealed to the partner sender.

You will earn RLC tokens for each email received. Earnings through Privacy Pass are not guaranteed as they depend on the availability of partners sending the emails, the price set for receiving emails, and the subscriptions you have agreed to.

Protecting data in use, in this case, an email address is possible thanks to a recent technology called Confidential Computing. At iExec this technology is implemented through Intel SGX (Software Guard Extensions). This ensures that sensitive data remains encrypted and protected while being processed, preventing unauthorized access or exposure. It enables secure computation across different environments, safeguarding privacy and maintaining data confidentiality.

The Privacy Pass enables companies to send marketing emails to subscribers without storing or knowing the subscriber's email addresses.

Anyone with an Ethereum-compatible wallet and a verifiable email address.

To sign-up for the campaigns, you’ll need to follow these steps:

1. Connect your wallet using MetaMask or WalletConnect and make sure you’ve switched to the iExec Sidechain (bellecour) when prompted.
2. Protect your email address, you will be requested to sign and confirm multiple transactions in your web3 wallet, here’s the breakdown of it:
   1. The first confirmation will create a protected data of your email address, which means it will be encrypted.
   2. Secondly, you’ll be asked to sign a transaction to push your protected data encryption key to the iExec Secret Management Service (SMS).
   3. Finally, you’ll be asked to make two signatures to grant access to iExec to your protected data, which is permission for your email address to be securely used, but never revealed.

Once you've completed the steps above, you will receive an email. To confirm your signup, please click on the link provided in the the email to access the dashboard.

On your dashboard, you will see the ongoing and upcoming campaigns. To join a campaign:

1. Click on “Join”.
2. You will be requested to sign two transactions with your wallet to grant access to the campaign.
   1. The first signature will create the authorization to send you an email.
   2. The second transaction will publish the authorization to send you an email as soon as the campaign starts.

Once your sign-up is confirmed, you will have access to the Privacy Pass dashboard. Campaigns available for participation will be displayed in the dashboard, along with the reward information.
